IT'S TRUE: Nicky Hayden to compete at X Games 14
America's favorite MotoGP champion is at the Home Depot Center today preparing for the time of his life.

Friday, Aug. 1, 2008 - HOME DEPOT CENTER, CARSON, CALIF - The rumors are true, The Kentucky Kid, Nicky Hayden is suited up and primed for X Games SuperMoto-X action here at the Home Depot Center.

With support from his friend Troy Lee and his crew of technicians the former World Champ Hayden has created a lot of excitement with his willingness to suit up and burn gas.

In today's practice and qualifying sessions Hayden got a feel for the Home Depot track and the new TLD prepped 450 Honda he jumped, slid and drifted like a seasoned Supermoto veteran. Hayden had the good sense to study the lines of his fellow Troy Lee Team riders, Jeff Ward, David Pingree, and Cassidy Anderson, who ended their session by qualifying 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Hayden will start from the 15th position.

SuperMoto-X final takes place Saturday afternoon at 4pm.

Rally Time with Travis!
This Sunday, August 3rd, fans will enjoy a rare opportunity to see history in the making when multi-time, multi-discipline X Games medalist Pastrana takes on a full paddock of the worlds top rally car commandos drift, slam, and fly their cars in and around a fast and furious Home Depot Center dirt and tarmac circuit.

The X Games makes a sixth appearance in Los Angeles July 31-August 3 with events staged at the STAPLES Center, the Home Depot Center, and the Event Deck at LA Live. New events on tap this year are BMX Street, Moto X Best Whip, Women's Moto X Racing, Moto X Speed & Style, and BMX and Skateboard SuperPark.
