X Games 14 Rally Car Racing
Pastrana heads Sunday's stacked pro grid and
everybody's out to prove something
!

July 30, 2008 - Los Angeles - Don't even suggest to motocrosser / freestyler / rally car champion Travis Pastrana - or anybody else sporting a five-point racing harness - that automobiles, berms, and packed stadiums don't provide edge of your seat entertainment. They'll go to great lengths to prove you wrong even at the expense of their own very exotic, very expensive ($200,000 a copy), very powerful (340-horsepower), all-wheel drive, open class rally cars.

This Sunday, August 3rd, fans will enjoy a rare opportunity to see history in the making when multi-time, multi-discipline X Games medalist Pastrana takes on a full paddock of the worlds top rally car commandos (the word "drivers" just doesn't cut it), drift, slam, and fly their cars in and around a fast and furious Home Depot Center dirt and tarmac circuit.

Behind the wheel of his #199 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, Pastrana will exhibit what friends and rivals alike agree are his supernatural driving talents and a fear nothing attitude that took him to the 2006 national championship at 23, when he became America's youngest rally champion.

Two X Games rally car appearances have resulted in X Games 12 gold (he beat the former world champion Colin McRae who died last year in a tragic helicopter crash at home in Scotland) and a bronze medal last year.

"Rally is just like motocross," says the always affable Pastrana. "Only with roll cages!"

Rally Car Racing is the fastest event at X Games 14 and tops off four exciting days of world-class competition. At 1:30 p.m. eight two-man teams will race head to head in and out of The Home Depot Center until a final winner is determined.

This ticket also includes access to all X Fest events.
